Frequently Asked Questions about the Open Houses

1. We are interested in finding out more about your school. Would you please send me a list of requirements for admission?

The best way to learn more about our school is attend an Open House session. Open Houses are held in the Fall only.

2. When can I sign up for an Open House?

The Open House registration site goes online Wednesday October 11, 2017. You may sign up for one Open House session at our Hackensack campus and one session at our Teterboro campus.

3. I did not receive a confirmation email with my Open House Pass. What should I do next?

Please check your spam / junk email to see if you received the confirmation email there. If the email is not in your spam mail, go back to the registration site and check the email address that you entered and verify that it is correct. If this does not work, re-register.

4. All the Open Houses sessions are full. What can I do?   Will additional tours be added?

Please plan to come as a walk-in for an 11:00 am or 2:00 pm session on one of our Open House dates. If you come 45 minutes prior to the beginning of the session, we should be able to seat you, but we cannot guarantee you seats.

5. Is there a Wait List for the Open Houses?  Is there an Open House date where we stand a better chance of getting in as a walk-in?

We do not have a wait list for the Open Houses. You are welcome to come as a walk-in (see question #4); you have a better chance of being seated at the third Open House.

6. I registered for this Sunday's Open House afternoon session, however I don't recall receiving the open house pass.

We are unable to check your registration or to send you passes; we ask that you check your spam/ junk mail. Visitors who do not have a pass will be given the same consideration as walk-ins.

7. Please clarify if the registration details are under the parent's name or the name of the child who is interested in attending Bergen County Academies.

It is advisable to register for the Open House session under the child's name.

8. Must  students attend the Open House if they have already done so in a previous year?

If a student attended an Open House session in a previous year, and has received enough information, it is not necessary to come to a current Open House session. This will give a student who has not come to an Open House the opportunity to attend. For updated information on the application process, it is important to print the Admissions "Guide to Applying" booklet  located on the Admissions webpage.

9. I am unable to log into the online application with my username and password. Why does my username and password not work for that site?

The Open House Registration and the Online Application sites are not linked. You must register at BOTH sites to be able to use them.
